This Privacy Policy explains how Bidding Taxi ("we", "us", "our")
collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Bidding Taxi
rider mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service
you agree to the practices described here.
The short version. We collect the information needed to book and
complete your rides — your phone number, name, email, location, and payment
confirmation. We share your pickup/drop and first name with the assigned driver so
they can complete your trip. We do not sell your personal data. You can export or
permanently delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you give us
Account details — mobile number (used with a one-time password to sign in), name, and email address.
Trip details — pickup and drop-off addresses, chosen vehicle type, fare/bid, and any notes you add.
Emergency contacts — if you choose to add them, the name and phone number of contacts you type in. We do not read the contacts stored on your device; this information is entered manually by you.
Support & ratings — messages you send to support and the rating/feedback you leave for a driver.
b. Information collected automatically
Location — with your permission, your device's precise and/or approximate location, to set your pickup point, show nearby cabs, draw your route, and enable live trip tracking. Location is used while you are using the app; the app does not track your location in the background.
Device & usage data — app version, device model, language, and diagnostic information needed to operate the Service and send push notifications.
Push token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can notify you about ride status and offers.
c. Payment information
Online payments are processed by our payment partner Razorpay. Your
card/UPI/bank details are entered into and handled by Razorpay — we do not store your
full payment credentials on our servers. We receive a payment confirmation and
transaction reference to mark your ride as paid.
2. How we use your information
To create and secure your account and sign you in via OTP.
To match you with a driver, calculate fares, run the bidding/auction, and complete your trip.
To show live tracking and share trip status with you (and, if you choose, with a contact via a share link).
To process payments, wallet coins, referrals, and coupons.
To provide customer support and handle safety (SOS) events.
To send you ride updates and — only if you allow it — promotional offers. You can turn off promotional notifications in the app.
To detect fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with the law.

accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), access
controls, and tokenised payments — to protect your information. No method of
transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and
promptly address issues.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
